Client's need

1

The request

Schaffner needed a robust, bespoke anti-vandal bar device to protect sensitive equipment. The aim was to design a security bar able to withstand break-in attempts while meeting precise design and manufacturing constraints.

The request
2

The need

Beyond strength and durability, this anti-vandal bar had to adapt to its installation environment (dimensions, fixing points, aesthetic constraints) and offer enough resistance to deter any malicious act. The client was looking for a reliable solution, produced quickly and at a controlled cost.

Our objective

  • Design a bespoke model meeting the mechanical and aesthetic specifications.
  • Prototype quickly to validate the geometry and robustness before going into production.
  • Ensure a local, responsive manufacturing process through 3D printing.

Design & prototyping

We began with a study phase to understand the constraints of the operating environment: Sketches: analysing the requirements and developing several shapes for optimal reinforcement. 3D modelling: creating a virtual prototype to fine-tune the geometry, anticipate the fixing points and check compatibility with the existing supports.

Bespoke 3D printing

Once the prototype was validated, we launched the 3D printing of the anti-vandal bar mounts:

  • Durable materials: selecting a high-strength filament (fibre-reinforced composite) to maximise mechanical resistance and limit wear.
  • Parameter optimisation: adjusting the wall thickness and infill density to reinforce strength.

Testing & validation of the results

Before delivering the anti-vandal bar mounts, several checks were carried out: Resistance tests: verifying the ability to absorb impacts and pulling forces. Finishing: smoothing and touch-ups to guarantee a uniform surface while keeping a professional appearance. Final validation: client sign-off after confirming that the bar fits the installation perfectly and meets the anti-vandal requirements.

Security, tailored to the field

A device designed to measure for its installation environment, prototyped then manufactured in composite. Robust where it counts, adjusted to the millimetre.

We are thoroughly satisfied with your work. The advice, responsiveness and quality all meet our requirements, whether in ABS or in Nylon/Carbon.
